Kathleen Mugleston Fetzer

September 5, 1942 — November 6, 2009

Kathleen Mugleston Fetzer, 67, passed away at home after a years-long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

Kathleen w as born September 5, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Maurine Kinghorn and Louis Wetzel Mugleston. She attended East High School and earned a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Utah. She taught fourth grade at Emerson Elementary.

Kathleen's teaching skills were most evident in her instruction of her children and others in gospel subjects to She never tired of learning. She served faithfully as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society organizations. For two years she acted as Matron of the Frankfurt, Germany Temple.

Kathleen married Richard W. Fetzer in 1964, and devoted her life to her family, passing up personal opportunities in favor of her husband, children and grandchildren. "I'll have time for that later", she would say.

For many years Kathleen was affiliated with the LDS Brighton Girls' Camp as a camp counselor and committee member. She loved to lead hikes in her beloved mountains.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Richard, seven children: Heidi (Kent) Page, Dawn (Nathan) White, Laura (Darcy) Hunt, Karen (Brendan) Veranth, Elaine (Jaime) Hunt, Stuart (Marcy), and Mark (Kristi). She shares 15 grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Barbara Orton, Nina Ownby, Janet Preece, Margaret Clark and Shirley Morrill and brother David Mugleston.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 11, 2009, 12:00 p.m. at the LDS Valley View Stake Center, 2245 East 3900 South, with a visitation prior to funeral service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The family would love to visit with extended family and friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City.
