Keith Joseph Davis

Keith Joseph Davis passed away peacefully on October 22, 2023, at the age of 97. Keith was born in Lehi, UT, on April 27, 1926, to David Daniel Davis and Annie Pearl Loader. He grew up in Salt Lake City and spent his summers on his family’s farm in Lehi. He attended West High School and later joined the U.S. Navy to serve his country during World War II. After returning home from the war, Keith took a job as a painter, later becoming a painting contractor. He started his own business building homes working alongside his sons until his retirement.

Keith married Joan Mills in 1949. They settled in Kearns, UT, where they raised their seven sons until Joan’s death in 1973. Keith moved his family to Bountiful, UT, where he married Phyllis Hall in 1974, blending their eleven children and adding one more son. In 1995, Keith and Phyllis moved to St. George, Utah and resided there until they returned to northern Utah and settled in Syracuse in 2002.

Keith was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing with his sons, and travelling across the country in his motorhome. He had a passion for movies, especially westerns and musicals, and had a vast collection that he enjoyed sharing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, visiting his sons on the jobsite, supporting his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sharing countless family dinners during the final years of his life. Every goodbye was always followed with a joyful “loves ya!”

Keith is survived by his children Keith (Cheryl) Davis, David Davis, Steven (Eunice) Davis, John (Sue) Davis, James (Celia) Davis, Gary (Wendy) Davis, and Chad (Jennifer) Davis; stepchildren Carrie Reece, John (Michelle) Hall, Scott (Jane) Hall, and Kelley Hall; 40 grandchildren, 89 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and brother George. Preceded in death by his first wife Joan; second wife Phyllis; sons Vern and Alan; parents David and Annie; brothers Roy and Harry; and sisters Phyllis and Dorethy.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Lakeview Memorial Mortuary & Cemetery, 1640 Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, UT. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Country Crossing LDS Ward Chapel, 1285 South 2500 West, Syracuse, UT.
