He passed away on February 3, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born on May 25, 1951, in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of Jessie June Oler and Marion Lawrence Junior JR.
He had a wonderful childhood with 1 sister (Bertha ANN), One older brother Mark, and one younger brother Rick. Raised mostly in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada but his Dad was in the air force so they also went to France when he was 8
He married 3 times but the third time was a true eternal marriage to Cathy Wood-Davis married 27 Jul 2000.
He loved dancing when he still could. He loved to lead Bible study groups. He was a devoted husband, father, and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was an example of joy in every moment. He loved to tease and be teased back. He did Diamond dots for a time before his back surgery and did some beautiful pictures and bracelets for granddaughters. He had Cerebral Palsy all his life, but his mother taught him not to dwell on his shortcomings but instead to look to the positive. He had lots of stories to tell, mostly spiritual related, and those will be posted in his life history on familysearch.org. He will be truly missed because of his infectious personality. He was just larger than life being a great example to many of us.
He is survived by his loving wife Cathy, daughters Denise (Jamie) Gilbeau, and Mary-Ann (Andrew) McLean, a son Damon (Melanie) Davis. His best mother-in-law, Blanche Gould. His brother Richard Junior of Edmonton. 6 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Mark, and his sister Ann (Bertha Ann).
Funeral Services will be held on February 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Estates Mountain View Location 900 E 5850 S, Murray UT.
Graveside dedication and burial for family only at 12:30pm at the Holladay Cemetery. 4900 Memory Lane.
