Keith Charles Wallace Sr

May 2, 1920 — March 8, 2008

Our beloved father and grandfather, Keith Charles Wallace, Sr., passed away on Saturday, March 8, after a long, full, and well-spent life. He was born May 2, 1920 in La Verkin, Utah to Clifford Charles Wallace and Sarah Miles Wallace. He spent his hard-working youth in and around St. George where he attended Dixie Junior College, majoring in business. He was an accomplished basketball player perfecting his legendary two-handed, between the legs free throw. Keith defined himself with 3 major attributes: First, as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather; second, as a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; and finally, as a proud American who served his Country as a chaplain in the South Pacific theater during World War II as well as the occupation of Japan subsequent to the wars conclusion. He was the recipient of both the Purple Heart as well as the Bronze Star. Keith met his loving wife and companion, Ada Bluth Wallace, prior to both leaving for LDS missions, she to the Southern States Mission and he to the Central States Mission. Subsequent to their return and shortly before he entered military service, they were married and sealed as eternal companions in the St. George temple on April 10, 1943. They were together for 61 years until her death, November 7th, 2004 and raised five children, all of whom survive him: Keith C. Wallace, Jr. (Carol), Michael A. Wallace, Jason K. Wallace (Terrill Burnett), Robyn L. Blanchard-Wallace (Jim Blanchard), and D. Barry Wallace (Julianne). He also had 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and was devoted to each. Most importantly, Keith lived his faith to the fullest of his abilities every day. He served in many Church callings throughout his life.
