1933 Kenneth 2026

Kenneth Franklin Alvey

October 27, 1933 — January 16, 2026

Salt Lake City

Kenneth Franklin Alvey went home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2026. He was born on October 27, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Melvin and LaVern Alvey, one of nine siblings.

Kenneth married Evelyn “Fay” Case on November 24, 1951. Together, they were blessed with four children on earth and one angel in Heaven. Kenneth spent 40 years with Interstate Brick, retiring as a superintendent. After retirement, he stayed busy by starting his own lawn care business and discovered a love for woodworking, creating furniture and crafts with remarkable skill. His beloved wife Fay passed away on March 26, 1999. He later found love again and married Myrna Sizemore Alvey on August 19, 2001.

Kenneth had a lifelong passion for racing. He was involved in the Salt Lake Racing Association, serving as Chief Chassis man for his lifelong friend, Mel Andrus. Together, their team competed in the USAC circuit, setting track records across the United States—an accomplishment he took great pride in.

He loved the outdoors and found joy in camping, fishing, and hunting. One of his favorite stories was the time he shot his biggest buck, with eight points on one side and nine on the other. Wendover, Nevada, knew him well, and he never missed a chance to return for the fun and a good meal deal.

Kenneth was wise and funny, known for his positive outlook and loving nature. Even on his hardest days, he could always find something to laugh about, bringing comfort and joy to those around him. His faith was central to his life—he loved his Lord and Savior and faithfully volunteered his time and talents at his church. His faith guided the way he lived, loved, and treated others.

Above all else, his family was everything to him—and he was everything to his family. He leaves behind his daughter Evelyn Christofferson; sons Kenneth (Geri) Alvey II and William “Bill” (Tawni) Alvey; daughter-in-law Nancy Alvey. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Z Stewart, Corbin Stewart, Kenneth (Angela) Alvey III, James Alvey, Travis Alvey, Chantelle (Rob) Alvey-Mukai, Jake (Becky) Alvey, Myka (Erick) Alvarez, and Makenna Alvey, along with eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings Derrold Alvey, Carolyn Earl, and Alona Peterson. He was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn “Fay” Alvey; his second wife Myrna Sizemore Alvey; sons Billy Joe Alvey and Byron James Alvey; his parents Melvin and LaVern Alvey; and siblings Melvin Alvey II, Charlie Alvey, Margaret Brown, Judy Lee, Ellen Fullmer, and many other loved ones. Kenneth’s legacy of love, faith, hard work, and laughter will live on through all who knew him.
