Kenneth Clarence Bernier passed away peacefully on October 29, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born to Clarence Bernier and Mabel Caderet Bernier on August 20, 1915 in Wyandotte, Michigan.
Ken was a Marine during WWII and served in the Pacific Campaign, 3rd Marine Air as an SFC. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Ken made his career in the insurance business, working as a regional agent for the St. Paul Insurance Companies until his retirement and then became an independent insurance agent for the next 25 years.
Ken was active in the South Salt Lake Lions Club and South Salt Lake Police Auxillary as an honorary Col. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He lived life to the fullest and was loved by all who knew him and called him "the old guy". He loved fishing and hunting and traveling with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Evans Bernier; Children, Ronald Bernier, Pamela (David) Lewis, Gary (Monica) Livingston, Ray (Francis) Livingston, Craig (Karen) Livingston, Linda (Dave) Whipple; 25 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Elva Morgan Bernier.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Olympus 3rd Ward, 4100 South Camille Drive (2480 East). Friends can visit with the family Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
