Kenneth Dan Carrell Jr.

d. July 27, 2023

Kenneth Dan Carrell Jr.
Born July 5, 1970 and passed away July 27, 2023.
Those closest to him called him Danny. He passed away July 27 at the age of 53 in Price, Utah.
Danny was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in West Valley City and stayed close to home spending most of his life in Magna. He later fulfilled his dream of moving out of the city for a slower pace of life surrounded by beautiful views of mountains from his porch on his own piece of land in Price.
Danny met his wife Sheila at the young age of 16 and had two beautiful daughters Shaylyn and Reanna. He was proud to be a father and became a grandfather just before his passing.
Danny enjoyed being with his pack of 6 dogs or more. He was always compassionate
loved taking care of animals, from garden snakes to pigeons. He was “Mr. Fix-it” and was always working on a project outside. He built all kinds of makeshift sheds, fences, and always found a way to take something broken and turn it into something new. In the summer, he enjoyed maintaining his pool in the backyard and listening to music. Danny loved his country and was passionate, proud and grateful for the freedoms he had as an American. He had traditional values and enjoyed discussing politics with his family, especially with his son in-law.
He kept his circle small, but was adored by many. He had a special way of drawing people in to him, even when he didn’t have much to say. He never had anything bad to say about anyone. If his family needed something to be fixed, he was happy to try and fix it in the best way he knew how. He was a simple man, from the way he dressed to how he lived his life. All he needed to be happy was his girls and his dogs.
Danny is survived by his wife Sheila Carrell, daughter Shaylyn Carrell Jowell (Troy), Reanna Carrell, grandson Teagan Rex Jowell, father Kenneth Dan Carrell Sr and step mother Carol Carrell, brother Robert James Carrell (Jolene), step siblings Angela Mathis (Jared), Andy Sly (Mariana),Chantel Sly and mother in law Linda Lester as well as nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother Ryan Don Carrell and his mother Bernice Martinez, grandparents and other loved ones.
Services will be held on Monday August 7 at Memorial Estates 6500 S Redwood Road Salt Lake City , UT 84123. Viewing at 11 am and graveside services at 12 pm.
We appreciate the caregivers at Castleview Hospital for taking care of him, as well as friends and family who showed up to support the family in known and unknown ways.
We will forever miss Danny and his memory will live on and be passed down to his many more future grandchildren and family.
We are grateful to know that he is in the best of hands and care with Heavenly Father and the savior Jesus Christ. We know that there is life after death and families are forever. This is not the end, just a temporary goodbye.
In the words of one of his favorite songs:
“I took your every word to heart ’cause I can’t stand us being apart
Just to show how much I really miss ya
Every light in the house is on
The backyard’s bright as the crack of dawn
The front walk looks like runway lights
It’s kind like noon in the dead of night
Every light in the house is on
Just in case you ever do get tired of being gone
Every light in the house is on”
Until we meet again, every light in the house is on..
