Kenneth (Ken) Lynn Kerr, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 2, 2026. Born in Boise, Idaho on July 31, 1932, Dad dedicated his life to service and family. At an early age, dad’s family moved from Boise to Pocatello, Idaho where he attended Pocatello High School excelling at many sports including boxing and football where he received multiple State honors. Dad attended a year at Idaho State University before enlisting in the United States Airforce.
Dad was a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving in Japan from 1951 to 1955. Following his military service, dad built a distinguished career with the Federal Aviation Administration, first as an air traffic controller, then working in various administrative positions both in Salt Lake City and Denver, Colorado. Dad married the love of his life, Charlotte Ann Novis, in 1957 and together, they raised four children and built a close-knit family. While living in Rose Park, dad was active in the Rose Park Boys Baseball Association, where he mentored and supported young athletes. He also loved golf, both playing, watching and being a “Marshall” in both Bountiful and Mesquite. Dad was particularly proud of his hole-in-one. Dad cherished the friendships and memories made on the course. Dad was preceded in death by Charlotte, his beloved wife of 57 years, his parents Josephine Lachs Kerr and George William Kerr and his brothers, Richard and Roger Kerr, He is survived by his children, Julie Eriksson (Rob), Brad Kerr, Greg Kerr (Candy), and Brenda Kerr-Nielsen (Jim Nielsen). Dad also leaves behind six grandchildren, Amber Kerr, Randon Kerr, Brianna Eriksson, Hayley Eriksson, Chase Eriksson, Nicole Morgan, and six great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Creekside Assisted Living in Bountiful and the Ovation Hospice team for the love, care, and friendship they extended to our dad in the last chapter of his life. There will be a Celebration of Ken’s life on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Greg Kerr’s residence, 4052 W 12050 South, Riverton, UT. Dad's legacy is that of integrity, service, and devotion to family that will be remembered with great love and respect.
