Kenneth D Moeller

1947 – 2015  "Gone, But Never Forgotten"

Kenneth D Moeller, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, left us too soon on Feb 15, 2015. He was born May 6, 1947 to Kenneth K Moeller and Virginia Ann Davis Moeller.

Ken served in the Army from 1964 to 1970 while starting his career. Ken started his career with the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office in support staff services as a dispatcher at age 19 (1966). On February 1, 1967 he started working in the jail, in 1971 he went out on the road as a deputy. He received the Sheriff's Star two times in his career between 1993 and 2000. He was promoted to Sergeant July of 1994 and retired in 2001. He was very proud of his career.

To know Ken was to love Ken. He was an inspiration, hero, an ear, shoulder, and rock to so many. His smile was contagious, you never saw Ken without a smile or his well-known grin. Ken was always the kind to give the benefit of the doubt to anyone until they proved him wrong.

He spent the vast majority of his life on a motorcycle, from the time us kids were riding on the gas tank to us riding on the radio box of his police bike to school. He was happy when he was cruising a motorcycle with friends and family.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Moeller; sisters, Connie Chacon and LeeAnn McCleary. He is survived by his loving, caring, beautiful wife, Peggy Corwell Moeller; daughter, Kim (Paul) Phillips; son, Kenneth B (Carly) Moeller; very special granddaughter, Kylee Ann Phillips; cousin, Sandy (Bob) McKean; sister, Kathy (Jimmy) Harding; brother-in-law, Brad McCleary; step-daughter, Tracy (Gary) Howard – Tyler,Whitney, and Hailey; step-daughter, Amy (Pat) Held – Patrick; step-daughter, Megan Jex; step-son, Michael Jex; step-son, Justin (Brooke) Jex – Jayden and soon to be baby boy; and many friends.
