Afterwards he served a Southern California mission with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1960-1962. He went on to Utah State University where he met his sweetheart, Beverly Ann Ellingson. They were married on June 22nd, 1964, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Ken graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1966 and later a Master’s of Recreational Education from Brigham Young University. Ken and Beverly were blessed with 5 wonderful children. He loved his family very much, and he also loved participating in outdoor activities like camping, fishing, and golfing. It was a bonus if he was with his family. He also enjoyed watching football, specifically BYU football games.
