Kirsten A Nielsen 91 years old, passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Kirsten was born on March 2, 1935, in Copenhagen Denmark, to Wilford and Inge Andersen. She immigrated with her parents to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1952 at the age of seventeen.
In 1955 she married her one and only love, Jens V Nielsen. Together they raised three children. Jens passed away 35 years ago but she never lost her love for him.
Kirsten was an angel giving pure love and caring to everyone that she met. She never uttered a negative word about anyone or anything in her life. Family was the most important thing to her. There is nothing she would not do for her family including baking wonderful Danish pastries, pancakes, and other wonderful meals. She loved cleaning even finding joy in cleaning her children’s homes as a show of love and caring for her family.
She was the most caring and giving woman, someone who offered love freely to everyone she met. Her kindness was not something she saved for special moments- it was the way she was. Her family was the center of her world, and nothing brought her more joy than watching her grandchildren grow. Christmas Eve was her favorite day of the year, a night she filled with warmth, tradition, and togetherness- a reflection of the love she gave so freely.
Kirsten is survived by her three children, Gene (Heather) Nielsen, Diane (Garin) Humphrey, and Roger (Tonya) Nielsen, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a baby son, her husband, and parents.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 2 pm at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the memorial service from 1-2 pm.
She will be deeply missed, and we will always carry her love with us. She loved deeply, gave freely and cared for everyone around her. That is who she was.
