Knarik Khachatryan

Our beloved mother, Knarik Khachatryan, was a truly beautiful woman—inside and out. Her love for her family was boundless, and her remarkable strength carried her through every hardship. Life never broke her spirit; she met every challenge with courage, determination, and unwavering faith.

Our mother never took “no” for an answer—in fact, few would dare say “no” to her. She lived by deeply held principles of human decency, loyalty, and integrity. Through her example, she taught us to be courageous, embrace life’s opportunities, and give ourselves wholeheartedly to everything we pursued.

Education was one of her greatest priorities. With her constant encouragement and belief in us, her children earned bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. That legacy continued through her grandchildren, who have earned bachelor’s, master’s, PhD, and JD degrees. She was enormously proud of every accomplishment and often shared our achievements before even introducing us.

She brought joy wherever she went—with her youthful spirit, wonderful humor, beautiful singing voice, and unforgettable family gatherings. Her favorite saying, “Forever young,” perfectly captured the way she lived. The songs “Edelweiss” and “Que Sera, Sera” will always bring her voice back into our hearts.

Our mother was also a devoted patriot of Armenia. She encouraged everyone of Armenian heritage to speak the Armenian language and remain connected to their roots. Although she spent her final years in America, her heart always remained in Armenia. She instilled in all of us a deep and lasting love for our Armenian identity.

Knarik was a gifted educator who inspired her students, uplifted her colleagues, and touched countless lives. She was adored by her beloved husband, Sergey, cherished by her family, and loved by everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was blessed with four children, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her Mamulik—“Mommy Dearest.” We were her greatest joy, and she was the heart and strength of our family.

Her faith carried her throughout her life, and we know that God has welcomed her into His eternal Kingdom. She is now joyfully reunited with her beloved Sergey and her infant son, Vahram—together again for all eternity.

We will miss her more than words can express, but her strength, laughter, music, faith, Armenian spirit, and endless love will live within us forever.
