Lacey Elizabeth Orgill, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away on November 13, 2025, at the age of 44. She was born on March 27, 1981, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

A natural writer and artist, she expressed her creativity across various mediums throughout her life, including music and painting. She had a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor, often the one making others laugh.

She cared deeply for people who struggled, often because she had walked those paths herself. Lacey’s life was not without hardship, but she never pretended to be anything other than who she was. Her authenticity was her trademark; she never compromised it.

In recent years, Lacey found profound strength as she worked to rebuild and re-envision her life. She returned to school, excelled in her classes, and set a deeply personal goal to change her perspective on her circumstances, realizing the shift she wanted had to begin within herself.

Nothing, however, meant more to Lacey than her son, Davey. Her love for him was unwavering, and she was so proud of the young man he has become. She will continue to live on through him—in his humor, his resilience, and his own creative spark.

Lacey is survived by her grandmother, Patricia Wright; her mother Denyse Godell; her sister, Havilah Mills; and son, Davey Barlow. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Royal and Ruby LaRae Orgill; father, David Orgill; and uncle Dale Orgill.

Her absence leaves an irreplaceable space - one marked by her wit, her laugh, her honesty, and the unmistakable presence of someone who lived life on her own terms.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 25th at 1pm at Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a fund established for Davey.
