Larraine Workman Platt
May 17, 1945 — December 26, 2022
With tremendous sadness, we announce the death of our mother, Larraine Workman Platt, age 77, of Sandy, Utah. Born May 17, 1945 in Junction, Utah and passed away on December 26, 2022 at her home in Sandy.
Our mom loved all holidays, and especially Christmas (this included 6 weeks of 24/7 Hallmark Christmas movies!). When we say “loved”, we mean that she decorated every room in the house, including bedding, bathrooms, linens and dishware. She also loved road trips (when they were healthy enough to take them), crafting, cooking, taking photos, and most of all, her family. Something unique about mom’s marriage is that she and Bob had the same birthday, including month, day and year. They joked about mom being 4 hours older than Bob, and therefore an older woman. She also had an undying love for her church, which was a priority throughout her life.
Larraine was predeceased by Husband: John Robert (Bob) Platt, Parents: Demar & Dortha Workman, Brothers: Boyd Workman & Larry Workman, Sisters: Sheila Nelson & Charlyn Moore, Children: Cory Peterson & Traci Peterson-Sanchez, Granddaughter: Markelle Frei.
Larraine is survived by Children: Lorrie Peterson, Cindy Peterson, Shane Peterson (Shylo), Travis Peterson (Tina), Heidi Dodd (Matthew), along with 30 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and last, but certainly not least, Lilo the dog.
We invite you to join us at Larraine’s viewing on December 31st, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:30 at the LDS Chapel located at 5562 W 13680 S, Riverton, Utah. Directly following the viewing, we will travel to Crescent Cemetery (11105 S State St, Sandy, UT), where all are welcome to join us at a graveside dedication before Larraine is laid to rest, next to the love of her life, Bob. Directly following the graveside dedication, we invite you to join us for a luncheon at the LDS Chapel 5562 W 13680 S, Riverton, Utah from 1:00pm to 3:00.
