Laura June Phillips Licklyter, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in West Jordan, Utah, on June 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on December 1, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Floyd and Mary DeForest Phillips.
Laura first married Arthur Loertscher, with whom she had her two cherished sons. Later, she married the love of her life Kelly Licklyter, who lovingly helped raise her boys.
Family was the heart of Laura’s world. She was immensely proud of her sons and adored her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Laura enjoyed quilting with her three sisters, crocheting, and working on diamond art projects.
She retired from Merit Medical in September 2024, leaving behind many dear friends and fond memories from her years of dedicated service.
Laura is survived by her sons, Robert (Traci) Loertscher and Brian K. Loertscher; grandchildren Erica (Nicole), Zaran (Jennifer), Austin, Brian J., and Laurie (Romero); great-grandson Dakota; and siblings Eugene (Wendy), Mary (Donald), Ray (Brenda), Rick, Bonnie (Steven), Rachel (Tim), and George (Lorie), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Kelly, and her grandson Chase.
A viewing to honor and celebrate Laura’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
