Lawrence W Morgan

November 11, 1917 — February 3, 2015

We celebrate the life of Lawrence W Morgan.

Born November 11, 1917 to George William Morgan and Florence Lucille Giauque. Died February 3, 2015.  Married Elizabeth May Taylor in the Salt Lake Temple January 2, 1942.

He was loved by all.  He served honorably in WW II in Patton's 3rd Army and retired as a Lt. Col.  He served two full time missions to Holland (the second with his wife.)  He was a life-long Scouter (over 75 years) and received the Silver Beaver Award.  He served in many ward callings, including the Bishopric at age 72.  One of his earliest jobs was as a sheep herder; later in life he worked in the steel industry for 34 years at US Steel and Gate City Steel. He died a young man at age 97 because "You can't count the time you spend as a scoutmaster against your life."

Preceeded in death by his parents and brother George.  Survived by his wife, his sister Arline, his 7 children: Ann White (Charlie); Larry (Linda); Frank (Linda); Marcia, John (Carol); Bruce (Carol); Pam; 15 grandchildren, and 29 great- grandchildren

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday February 7, 2015 at the East Millcreek 11th Ward, 2702 East Evergreen Ave. (3435 South) where friends may visit with the family on Friday evening  February 6, 2015  from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the church and also on Saturday from 11:30am to 12:30am prior to services.
