Lela Irene Fogel, of Duncan, Oklahoma, was born in Covell, Illinois on June 5, 1927 to William Henry and Mary Estella (Zeiters) Sprecker. She completed her earthly journey on Monday, October 27, 2025, in Marlow, Oklahoma at the age of 98.
Following her high school and college graduations, Lela put her Bachelor's degree to work becoming a schoolteacher. She married Donald Fogel on August 7, 1955 in Bloomington, Illinois. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she was very involved in activities within the church. She loved her church family. She enjoyed playing the organ and spending time with her grandchildren. Other pastimes she enjoyed included reading, word puzzles, walking, animals of all kinds, watching Gunsmoke and sneaking junk food to stash in her room. Chocolate was her weakness.
Lela is survived by her children: Grace and Michael Rascati of Chicago, Illinois, Wanda and Michael Charley of Salt Lake City, Utah, Diane and Dondi Solomon of Duncan, Oklahoma; stepchildren: Randy Fogel of Summerville, South Carolina, Donna Phillips of Fort Pierce, Florida; grandchildren: Michelle and Ben Cooper, Melissa Sourelah, Michael Winburn, Matthew and Bobbi Jo Winburn, Heather Morgan, Mary Fogel, Gabby and Mike Simpson, Mark Rascati, Emma Charley, NoraLee Charley; 4 step-grandchildren; great grandchildren: Caleb Kulbeth, Austyn Kulbeth, Brayden Cooper, Gavin Cooper, Nathan Cooper, Zoey Winburn, Rylan Winburn, Lily Winburn, Ellye Jo Winburn, Eli Winburn, Everett Winburn, Everlee Winburn, Sloane Simpson; and great-great grandchildren: Liam Kulbeth, Leighton Kulbeth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry and Mary Estella (Zeiters) Sprecker; husband, Donald Fogel; son, Clarence Fogel; grandson, Kenneth Fogel; brother, Orville Sprecker; sister, Bernice Sprecker; and son-in-law, Kenneth Winburn.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 4 at 2:00 PM with a viewing an hour prior taking place at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery: 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123.
