Lenwood Henry Streed passed away peacefully of respiratory failure August 16, 2011 surrounded by his family.

Lenwood was born May 29, 1937 to Henry and Viola Streed. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served his mission in Sweden where he happily honored his heritage. He married Betty Lou Harris October 20, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. He had the opportunity to serve in many callings, from scoutmaster to bishop to temple worker right until the end.

Lenwood worked for 40 years for the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT). After his retirement in 2000, he loved spending time at the family cabin as well as traveling abroad. He was very outgoing and a friend to everyone he met.

Lenwood is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Viola Streed and his son-in-law Lonnie Wilkes. He is survived by his wife Betty Lou Harris Streed, 3 children: Gregory (Caralyn) Streed, Karin Wilkes, and Rebecca Streed, 3 grandchildren: Melissa Karin and Michelle Elsie Wilkes, and Daniel Gregory Streed, his sister Rosalyn (Richard) Fowles, and his faithful friend "Nog."

Friends may call upon the family at Holbrook Mortuary (3251 S 2300 E SLC) from 6pm to 8pm Friday, August 19, 2011. A graveside service will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (3401 S Highland Dr SLC) at 11am Saturday, August 20, 2011.
