LeRoy Gene Schuring passed away on September 25, 2024, in West Valley City, Utah. He was born on April 9, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah to LeRoy and Betty Joyce Schuring.
LeRoy was a beautiful soul. He gained his angel wings after he fought a very long battle with cancer. The cancer did not win, we all won because we had more years with him. Uncle Gene, as most of his family knew him, was what the epitome of an amazing loving and beautiful human should be! We all felt his love, even if we were states away or right next door. He never forgot a birthday or holiday. There was ALWAYS a card in the mailbox. Nor will we forget his funny Jokes he would send us all. He taught us all about acceptance and unconditional love. His laugh was SO contagious. We all have our own amazing memories of him.
He Loved Spending time with his dog, Tinkerbell, who he called a princess, He loved to travel every chance he got, solving puzzles of all kinds, and going to ALL the scary movies that came out. He loved driving up the canyon to see the fall colors and trying new experiences, He was always so happy to spend time with family and friends.
The last 5 years he enjoyed his weeks playing bingo and having potlucks. On Saturday morning he would have breakfast with all his friends at Lakeside Apartment Complex.
In 2022, LeRoy became a published author of “In the Dark of the Night”. Writing books was his passion and he was extremely proud of this accomplishment. He was also very proud of his 38 years of hard work and dedication to the University of Utah Hospital where he worked as a data entry specialist in the linen department, where he received multiple awards for his punctuality and attendance.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his Parents LeRoy and Betty Joyce, two brothers: Nick and Mitch Schuring, Sister, Dorreen Boren; nephew, Mitch; and two nieces, Rebecca and Amanda.
He is survived by his brother, Mike Schuring; and sister, Alleen Schuring; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
