Leslie John Castro Navarro, 80, passed away on December 2nd, 2022 in Taylorsville, Utah. Leslie was born on May 24, 1942, in Guayaquil, Ecuador to Carlos Enrique Castro and Albania Navarro. He was married to Maria Soriano and later married Sergia Castro before meeting and marrying Rita Guerrero.
Leslie played baseball as a young man, but he especially loved soccer, and his favorite team was Barcelona. He enjoyed various types of music and shared that love with everyone he knew. He was a good leader and believed that everyone could become the best version of themselves. He always supported his family in all of their accomplishments and loved them deeply. He was humble and didn’t judge others; he always wanted to see the best in people.
He is survived by his wife Rita Guerrero, his Mother in Law Maria Hidalgo, his twin sister Alexandra Castro and her daughter Andrea, as well as his children and 15 grandchildren: Brigitte Castro, David Castro, Karen Joanna Castro (Johnny Pereira) and their children; Maria Paula, Gabrielle and Maya. Silvia Castro (Edward Bennett) and Silvia’s daughter Luna. Patricia Castro; Mother of Ashley and Raquel. Diana Castro and her children: Thalia (Jordan White), Anthony, and Marcelo. Leslie John Castro (Mariangie Castro); Parents of Alyxus, Mariah, Jaicie, Everleigh, Shaylee, and John Jr.
Leslie is preceded in death by his first wife Maria Soriano, his father Carlos Enrique Castro, His mother Albania Navarro and his brothers Enrique Castro and Enio Castro.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 8th at 11:00am at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, located at 6500 S. Redwood Road in West Jordan, Utah.
