Lilibeth Diamse Malmborg, age 67, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Beth, as she was affectionately known, was born on August 20, 1958 in Tarlac, Philippines. She emigrated to the US in 1977, and married her sweetheart and best friend Karry on June 28 1980 in the Salt Lake Temple. A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, her loss is felt deeply by many.
She was a shining light to all who had the privilege of knowing her, with her infectious laughter, warm welcoming, and genuine ease that made her a safe comfort to many. She was a true Matriarch, known as the “gatherer” of a large loving family, and loved to cook for all, setting a standard for many beloved authentic recipes from home in the Philippines. In her spare time she loved to crochet gifts for anyone in need, including other cancer patients in her same clinic. She loved to cultivate her gardens to perfection, whether in Salt Lake or her home in Mesquite, Nevada. An outdoorswoman, she loved to ski, snow or water, and above all to go fishing, wherever and whenever she could including her favorites Lake Powell, in the Wasatch, and Alaska. More than anything, she loved to just be with family.
Her generosity has been felt by many, including donating one of her kidneys to her sister. She was steadfast in her goodness even until the last month of her life fighting illness, as she continued to help loved ones in the Philippines pursue education and ways of sustaining and improving their lives, a promise she made when she left her home country and kept until the end--a true legacy of generosity. May we all be inspired by her devotion to improving the lives of others.
She is survived by her husband Karry, son Nathan (Julie), daughter Malissa (Jeff), grandsons Evan, Quinn and Logan, siblings Rey, Danny (Carmie), Arnel (Mililani), Reggie (Carol), Donny (Rosana), Jona (Howard), Jenny (Mathew), and many nieces and nephews, and dearest friends who she considered like family. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, and sister Tessie.
