Lincoln Clair LeCheminant passed away peacefully on June 14, 2023 at the age of 99. He was born on Abraham Lincoln’s 115th birthday, February 12, 1924, in Pleasant Green (later Magna), Utah, to parents Victor and Viola LeCheminant.
Lincoln was a World War II veteran, serving in various roles in the U.S. Army Air Corp (predecessor to the U.S. Air Force). He had several careers throughout his life, the longest of which was 32 years as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. In retirement, he worked for over 10 years as a glassblower for Rainbow Neon, a trade he had learned many years prior.
Lincoln was a devoted father and husband. He married Grace Pendleton Beacham in 1968. Lincoln was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in numerous callings including Scout Master, Ward Executive Secretary, Bishopric Counselor, and Nursery Leader. Together, Lincoln and Grace served two service missions in Salt Lake City and eight years at the Holladay Health Care Center. He was grateful for life and for the teachings of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
Lincoln is survived by his children, Darlene Schmutz, Teri LeCheminant, Mary Ann (Bliss) Roberts, Rod (Lareen) Beacham, Cynthia (Lawrence) Kingsley, Lynn (Jacqueline) LeCheminant, and Debra (Ted) Eugene, 46 grandchildren, over 70 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace; sons, Kenneth LeCheminant, and Kim Beacham; parents; sister, Viola; brothers, Victor Hugo and LaVaur; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, June 24, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Salt Lake Olympus Stake East Building (3070 East Nila Way, Salt Lake City, Utah), followed immediately by funeral services at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Memorial Holladay Cemetery.
