Linda Chipman Coleman, age 81, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on December 16, 1943, in Los Angeles, California, to Albert and Edna Chipman.
Linda married the love of her life, Norman Coleman, on August 31, 1964. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, faith, and service.
A devoted educator, Linda taught school for 38 years at James Moss and Upland Terrace Elementary Schools. Her passion for teaching left a lasting mark on countless students and colleagues. It was only when she found out she was going to be a grandmother that she decided it was time to retire — a reflection of how deeply she valued family.
Linda loved spending time with her loved ones and creating lasting memories. Some of her favorite places included Yellowstone, Disneyland, and Newport Beach.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Norman Coleman; her daughter Lauri Kerr (David) and grandchildren Alexis Kerr and Riley Parke; her son Brent Coleman (Rachelle) and grandchildren Harrison Coleman, Claire Coleman, Amelia Coleman, Nate Coleman, and Ben Coleman; and her son Tyler Coleman. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Edna Chipman; her aunt and uncle, Charles and Verna Cardwell; and her beloved grandson, Max Coleman.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 4497 Fortuna Way, Millcreek, Utah 84124. Interment will follow at Holladay Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah 84117.
Viewing will be held evening prior Friday, November 21, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Linda will be remembered for her kindness, devotion, and gentle spirit — a woman who lived with grace, served with love, and brought light to all who knew her.
