Linda Marie Van Dolzer

July 29, 1952 — May 14, 2025

Linda Marie (Ramos) Van Dolzer passed away unexpectedly in Ogden, Utah, on May 14, 2025. The oldest child of Jose Junius and Elsie Marie (Sorenson) Ramos, she was born at the Tooele Army Depot in Tooele, Utah, on July 29, 1952. She had one brother, Fred, and two sisters, Susan and Maren.

Over the course of her father’s military career, Linda lived in Japan, Utah, California, West Germany, and Colorado. Upon graduating from high school, she enrolled at what was then Ricks College, where she met her eternal sweetheart, Gary Louis Van Dolzer. They were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on December 14, 1973.

Linda had many roles in her life, but her favorite was mother. After years of heartache, she and Gary were blessed to adopt two beautiful girls, Krista and Heather. The family was sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple. Linda spent every day devoted to loving her family. When her eight grandchildren came along, she added the beloved role of grandma to her life.

Linda enjoyed a career working for Deseret Mutual in many different departments; she retired from the International Department. After she retired, she found great joy serving as an ordinance worker at the Bountiful Temple and briefly at the Layton Temple.

She was a passionate seamstress and crafter and used her talent to bless the lives of those around her. Linda was a loyal BYU football fan and made the journey from her home in Kaysville to Provo for every BYU football game possible. She was often found watching reruns of old football games because she could never get enough.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Gary Van Dolzer; her daughters, Krista (Chris) Garner of Adel, Iowa, and Heather (Adam) Musser of Layton, Utah; her eight grandchildren, Isaac, Maddy, Liam, Ruth, Peter, Caleb, Davy, and Violet; her sister, Maren (Sam) Paget; her sister-in-law, Rita Ramos; and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Marie Ramos, as well as her brother, Fred; her sister, Susan; and her nephew, Andy.
