Lloyd Higbee, age 98, passed away on Monday June 23, 2014 at his home in Salt Lake City. He was joined at his bedside by his son-in-Law with whom he had lived for the past 5 years. Lloyd was born in Cedar City, Utah on August 20, 1915 to Thomas J Higbee and Persis S Higbee. He married Sere E Sjostrom on December 2, 1949. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sere; and daughter, Sonia. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in North Africa and Europe. He was an active member of the LDS church, working for many years as a ward finance clerk and in the stake youth athletic programs. Lloyd was an avid golfer, traveler, and music connoisseur. But above all he was a loving human being who never complained, was always cheerful, and brightened the lives of those he encountered. He is survived by his nephew, Thomas Higbee of Cedar City; his son-in-law, John DeFord of Salt Lake City; and John's sister, Ellenore Bonebrake of Northbrook, Illinois; both of whom considered him almost as a father.
