Lois Watson Bywater

July 15, 1924 — October 4, 2009

Lois Watson Bywater, 85, passed away on October 4, 2009 in Salt Lake City. She was born in Salt Lake City on July 15, 1924 to Clarence Pat Watson and Klea Muir Watson. She grew up on the west side of Salt Lake and graduated from West High School in 1941.

She married Richard (Dick) Bywater on February 27, 1948. They were later divorced.

Lois was an original stay-at-home-mom, raising her two daughters in their Sherman Avenue home. She loved gardening and yard work and continued to cut, plant, prune and climb ladders well into her late 70's. She enjoyed bridge, golf and bowling. She watched every episode of Perry Mason that has ever been made! Her delicious Thanksgiving dinners were a highlight each year.

Lois is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Kris and Don Bell of Salt Lake and Debi and Mike Cracroft of Sandy. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Abbie Bell Carter-Smith (Scott) and Rebecca (Becky) Bell. Her first great-grandchild will be born in the spring. She is survived by a niece, Judy Evans Clark, Salt Lake, and a nephew, Craig W. Evans (Jan) of St. George, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Lorraine, and a nephew, Kent Evans.

To honor Mom's wishes, there were no formal services. Her remains were interned at Mt. Olivet cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Holbrook Mortuary. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.holbrookmortuary.com

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Cheri and her staff at Alta Ridge Assisted Living Center in Holladay. For the past 16 months they were her second family. We also offer a special thank you for the care and assistance rendered by Millcreek Home Health & Hospice for their much needed compassion in Lois' final days.
