Lola “Lola Bell” Gonzales

Lola “Lola Bell” Gonzales passed away at the age of 96, on May 17, 2023 in Surprise, Arizona surrounded by loved ones. Born May 26, 1926 in Artesia, New Mexico to Juan and Juanita Urban. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her 4 sisters, 1 brother, her first husband Thomas Guerrero, her second husband Ben Gonzales and her son Willie Gonzales.
She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was passionate about helping people and worked for The Salvation Army for 20 years before retiring to take care of her grandchildren who she adored more than anything. She was a lover of coffee, turquoise rings, telenovelas, word searches and Cheetos. She was an amazing cook and would never let anyone leave her house hungry.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Betty (Raymond) Navarro, Tom (Betty) Guerrero, Bernie (Bruce) Cassidy, Maryjean Atkins (Jay), Linda (Kevin) Ostler, Giovanni (Letty) Gonzales and Isaac (Iris) Gonzales and Jason Gonzales as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Lola was the heart and soul of her family and will be dearly missed by everyone that was lucky enough to know her.
Services will be held at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary on 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 10:00am-12:00pm with lunch to follow at the Salvation Army Salt Lake City Corps at 438 South 900 West, Salt Lake City, UT, 84104.
