Lori Kaye Thorn

January 10, 1961 — November 7, 2025

Lori Kaye Thorn, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on November 7, 2025. She was born on January 10, 1961, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Darwin and Betty Stout, and was a lifelong resident of Utah.

Lori married Mark Thorn in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 24, 1980. Lori built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and adventure.

A proud attendee of the University of Utah, Lori was an avid sports fan who could always be found cheering on her favorite teams. She loved traveling—especially to tropical destinations—riding horses, hiking in the mountains, and spending time outdoors. Above all, Lori cherished time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. Her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and the happy chaos of children and beloved dogs.

Lori was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived a life of service, compassion, and unwavering faith. Throughout her life, she faced countless medical challenges with unmatched courage and grace. No matter the trial, she met each one with resilience, faith, and determination—emerging stronger every time.

She is survived by her loving children, Weston Thorn, Ladd Thorn, and Kaitlin Halliday (Jon), and by her adored grandchildren: Kaydance, Kaddan, Ellis, and Isla Thorn; Brooklyn, Blakley, Olivia, and Stevie Halliday.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Thorn; her father, Darwin Stout; and her grandparents, Elizabeth and Irve Walton.
