Louis John Burton, 53 of West Jordan, Utah died suddenly at home on May 1, 2023. Louis was born on September 20, 1969 in Price, Utah, the son of Carlyle and Antoinette Burton. Louis id survived by his loving daughter Myiah Johanson; brothers Carly Burton (Barbara), Bill Burton (Judy), Kirk Mascasro (Jody) and sister Dee Ann Fingers (Greg); nephew Jeff Burton, who was more like a loving brother to Louis; and many cousins, nephews and nieces and the members of his band, Torque And The Broken, where they performed together for many years.
Louis grew up in Price, Utah where he graduated from Carbon High School in 1988. Upon graduation, Louis moved to Salt Lake City where he went to work for Wasatch Electric and his career spanned over 25 years.
Louis had many hobbies including fishing, riding his motorcycle and driving his Pontiac Trans Am but his favorite past-time was playing the guitar and singing lead vocals for his band. Louis was an excellent musician and performed at many venues including a music festival in Prague. Louis made many recordings of his music.
Louis’ daughter, Myiah was the love of his life and he always would brag how proud he was of her accomplishments and her work ethic where she was employed by the IRS in Ogden. Whenever he spoke of his “LuLu” his eyes would light up with pure joy. His family and friends were always an important part of his life, especially his nephew Jeff since the roomed together, worked together on occasion, played music together and generally just “hung out” together for many years. Louis also had a close and loving relationship with his niece, Michelle Bennett.
Louis will be terribly missed by his family and dear friends but they all know his is now in a safe and glorious place.
A Celebration of Life open house will he held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Carly and Barbary Burton, at 6856 South Bateman Dell Way, West Jordan, Utah.
