Lucille Christensen Rigby passed away peacefully Saturday morning in Bountiful Utah, August 1, 2009. She was born March 4, 1915 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Chloe Jane Call Christensen and Lars Frederick Christensen. She married James Stanley Rigby in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 27, 1939.

Lucille was an elegant lady, and will be remembered for her exquisite handmade chocolates. She also worked from home for many years as a beautician. She will be sorely missed.

At the age of 72, because of the depression, Lucille completed her education by attending Skyline High School to receive her GED, graduating as Valedictorian of her class. She was a faithful member of the LDS church and participated in the Ward choir for many years as well as serving faithfully in numerous church callings, including pianist, organist, and in primary. She also served three missions with her husband Stan;( England, Manchester, 1980-82; Chicago Temple, winter 1985-86 and a local mission in the Family History area of the Church Offices, 1991.) She was a lifetime member of the Heritage Chapter of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Lucille is survived by two children, Ronald J. (Carolyn) Rigby, Kathleen (Robert J.) Bringhurst; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Lynn Marie; son, Melvin W.; grandson, Rowland; great-grandson, Robert Scott; 2 brothers, Don, Garold; and 2 sisters, Vera and Mary.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 7, 2009 at 11:30 A.M. at the Canyon Rim Stake Center, 3051 South 2900 East. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the services.
