In Loving Memory of Luisa Calle Wade
With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Luisa Calle Wade, a devoted wife, cherished stepmother, loving grandmother, treasured sister, beloved aunt, and dear friend.
Luisa was born on March 31, 1958 in San Juan, Ayacucho, Peru, to her loving parents, Zenón Calle Rivera and Serafina Parra Bendezú. Deeply proud of her Peruvian heritage, she carried its rich traditions, warmth, and vibrant spirit throughout her life. Her kindness, generosity, and joyful presence reflected the values she cherished and touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Luisa was the youngest of six children and cherished the close bonds she shared with her family throughout her life. Her greatest joy was found in spending time with family and friends. She loved preparing delicious meals, sharing music, dancing, and admiring beautiful red roses. Luisa especially looked forward to traveling to her beloved homeland of Peru, where she reunited with her sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, and extended family while enjoying the authentic Peruvian cuisine she loved so dearly.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Luisa dedicated her life to serving the Savior. She faithfully served in many callings over the years and especially cherished her time serving in the Jordan River Utah Temple. It was there that she met the love of her life and eternal companion, Dan Wade. They were married on September 21, 2009, and together built a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to one another.
Although Luisa did not have children of her own, she was a natural nurturer whose heart overflowed with love for children. Affectionately known as "Tía Lucha," she embraced her role as an aunt with boundless love and devotion. She also wholeheartedly embraced the roles of stepmother and grandmother, offering unwavering support, comfort, and unconditional love to Dan's children and grandchildren. Luisa cherished every opportunity to be with her family and found great joy in watching her grandchildren and great-nephews grow, celebrating their milestones, and creating treasured memories that will be cherished for years to come.
Luisa is survived by her loving husband, Dan Wade; her stepchildren, Heather Wade, Jessica Jensen (Bill), and Easton Wade (Jenn); and her eight beloved grandchildren—Talan, Alexa, London, Knox, Savannah, Hayes, Oakley, and Ozzy—who brought endless joy to her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Leonor Calle, Elvia Bentley, Beatrice Davalos, and brother, Angel Calle; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Luisa was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Zenón and Serafina Calle, her dear brother, Eduardo Calle; and her cherished nieces, Cynthia Montesinos Calle and Romina Davalos Calle.
Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at South Mountain Dialysis who lovingly cared for Luisa, and to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who provided comfort, dignity, and kindness during her final days. Your care and compassion will never be forgotten.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the memories Luisa leaves behind. Her compassion, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy is one of kindness, selfless service, enduring faith, and unconditional love. She exemplified Christlike charity in the way she cared for others and taught by example that family is one of life's greatest blessings.
She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
