Lyle Ray Egbert Jr.

Lyle Ray Egbert JR. was born April 29th, 1959, in Bitburg Germany to his parents Lyle Ray Egbert SR. and Valeen Holfeltz Trujillo. Lyle passed away June 5th, 2024, in Riverdale Utah. Lyle passed away peacefully in his daughter’s arms surrounded by his loved ones. 

Lyle loved painting, carving, drawing, writing poems and songs, playing the harmonica, guitar and drums. He shared his many talents with his friends and family. Lyle loved giving people joy and laughter even in his final days. Lyle was giving and kind to all those he met. He loved to put a smile on everyone’s face, even a stranger down on their luck. He was deeply loved not only by his family but his friends as well. 

His daughter Nicole’s care and love through his battle with cancer was one of his greatest joys. The family would like to thank Jan from Applegate Hospice for the care she provided for him in his final days. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Lyle is survived by his mother, Valeen Holfeltz Trujillo; sister, Tamie Levine; children: Nicole Woolsey, Eric Egbert, Sydney Blood and Whitney Porter; grandchildren: Zachary Van Tassell, Zoie Woolsey, Sawyer Blood, Jayce Porter and Oadie Blood; brother-in-law, Art Lavine; his uncle, Larry Dean Holfeltz; and many cousins. He is further survived by his Wife, Twila Jerri Egbert and stepsons, Austin Martindale and Bradley Martindale; as well as his many friends.

Lyle was preceded in death by, his father, Lyle Ray Egbert SR.; grandfather, George W. Holfeltz; grandmother, Nedra Stevens; grandmother, Elsie Egbert; grandfather, James Egbert; and stepfather William O. Trujillo.

Honorary Pallbearers, Zachary Van Tassell, Randy Abner, Christopher Holfeltz, Darrel Egbert, Eric Egbert and Cody Egbert. 

Funeral services will be April 14th, Viewing will be held at 10:00 AM. Funeral will follow at 11:00 AM at Memorial Mortuary and Cemeteries. 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan 84123.

The family would like to take the time to thank all those who cared for Lyle in his final days.
