Lyle Roy Larsen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend passed away surrounded by his family on June 15, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born on August 26, 1943, Lyle lived a life characterized by hard work, devotion to family, and service. He had a gift for bringing people together through stories and laughter.
At age seventeen, Lyle joined the Operating Engineers Local 3 where he initiated his forty year career as a crane operator.
He married the love of his life, Carol Ann Holt, on May 1, 1965. Together they raised six children. He taught them how to work hard, how to love, and how to have faith. He was a tremendous example of someone who spent his life putting the needs of others before his own.
Lyle cared deeply about the members of his community. He had a passion for scouting and presided in multiple leadership roles for over seventeen years. He also loved his country and served in the Army National Guard of Utah for five years.
As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lyle found strength in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Dana, his son Bryan, his brother Robert, and his sister Patricia.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, five children Ken (Mindy) Larsen, Diane (Jeff) Wood, Kristine (Ryan) Larsen, Andrea (Chris) Buhl, and Rachael (Scott) Sheltra, twenty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A viewing will precede the funeral service on Saturday, June 27th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Butler Park Ward, 2895 East Creek Road Cottonwood Heights, UT. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 am.
