Lynn Browning Pearson

June 18, 1959 — October 22, 2023

Cottonwood Heights

Our beloved son, brother and father tragically passed away on October 22, 2023. Lynn Browning Pearson was born in Mesa, Arizona on June 18, 1959, to Velda and Wayne Pearson. He is the third of five children. He is survived by his son Christopher (Faith), son Derek, daughter Kelly, son Ryan, father Wayne, sister Debbie, brother Kevin (June), brother Kelly (Donna), and sister Nancy Leavitt (David).

Lynn was raised in Holladay, Utah and graduated from Olympus High School. He served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Norway Oslo Mission. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social work from Brigham Young University and received a master’s degree in mental health counseling from the University of Utah.

Lynn loved music and nature. Like too many in our day, he suffered throughout his life from debilitating depression. While this disease significantly impacted the course of his life and brought great challenges and difficulties, it also gave him unusual insight and ability as a therapist to help others struggling with similar challenges. He was loved and admired by those with whom he associated. His life is a loving and powerful reminder of the need for greater awareness of those around us who silently suffer with personal challenges, and the need for more compassion, empathy, understanding, forgiveness, and love in our relationships.

He has returned home to a loving Heavenly Father, the merciful and redemptive power of our Savior Jesus Christ and the warm embrace of our beloved mother. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

A private graveside service will be held at the Memorial Holladay Cemetery.
