Madeleine passed away, in the early morning of May 18, 2010 of cancer, surrounded by her family. She was born Jan 05, 1922 in Strasbourg, France to Eugene and Madeleine Vonpierre. She lived through WWII, having to flee her home and become a refugee when the Germans invaded France.

She married Charles Kayser in 1944. Marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. In 1949 they moved to Salt Lake City and started a new life. They had their only child, Roland in 1955. They returned to Europe in 1962 to serve an LDS building mission where Charles passed away in 1964.

She married Jakob Willi Schneider in 1973, and enjoyed a wonderful retirement with him traveling the globe. They also served a mission together in the Swiss Temple. Willi passed away in 1990, after which she devoted most of her time to her family, and her garden. She was still working in her garden one month prior to her passing. She served in many positions in the LDS church and always retained a special fondness for all of the girls she taught in mutual.

She is preceded in death by both parents, and husbands Charles and Willi. She is survived by a sister Germaine and her husband Eugene in Strasbourg, France, her son Roland (Patty) SLC, Grandchildren Charles (Meshelle) SLC, Aja (Kipp) NYC, Crystal (Sani) SLC, Katherine SLC, Amy SLC, and Jayson NYC., and fourteen great grandchildren including one who was born four days prior to her death.
