Marcia Collett Warner left us suddenly on February 14, 2014, of unknown causes. She was born on October 28, 1947, to Elaine T. Robertson Collett and Darwin Clyde Collett. She grew up in East Millcreek in a home built by her father, and graduated from Skyline High School.
Marcia loved art, dance, singing, playing the guitar and hammer dulcimer. She had the gift of composing beautiful music and belonged to the Composers Guild. She went to the U of U and majored in music. She married the love of her life, Jerry Warner. This love was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on August 6, 1971.
Marcia had great love for her family and enjoyed every moment she spent with them. She had one son, Dr. Jeromy Alan Warner who was the light of her life. Jeromy married Jessica Jensen and they gave her four wonderful grandchildren: Logan, Dane, Natalie, and Alissa. She will be greatly missed by them as she was so influential in their lives.
She loved her Savior and tried constantly to be stronger in the gospel by studying and learning more of Him. She served in many callings in the LDS church, including a three year ward mission and a three year Spanish mission with her husband. Marcia loved missionary work and embraced the families with whom she worked as her own. She most recently served as the Primary President in the Wasatch 3rd Ward and had mentioned she would miss the children very much. She has touched many lives by her example and strength in the trials that she had with her health.
She adored her husband and looked forward to the many little trips they took...always looking for the beauty she could find to photograph in nature. She was his best friend, partner, and love.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Warner; son, Jeromy Warner, his wife Jessica; four grandchildren; a brother, Mark Collett; and a sister, Kathleen McAllister. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Therese Bortolussi.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00am at the Wasatch 3rd Ward, 8170 South Shorthills Drive (3425 E.). Friends and family are invited to visit Friday evening 6:00-8:00pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church Saturday morning 9:30-10:30am prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
