Maria Teresa Rivas “Mamatere”, age 92
Tere passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023, in Murray, Utah surrounded by her children and loved ones.  Tere was born on November 1, 1930, in Guatemala City, Guatemala; daughter to Irineo (Father) and Maxima (Mother).
Tere married Manuel Ramirez in 1949 they enjoyed a very long and loving marriage.  Their marriage included an abundant amount of family time at home near the beach and other outdoor activities.  Tere loved cooking and gardening, whether it was baking cakes or making traditional dishes for her family.  Tere was very kind, loving and sweet towards all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren – Tere also loved taking care of her birds, which she had one for each of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children; Marieta de Ruano (Marco Ruano), Melvin Ramirez (Yolanda Ramirez), and Maritza Silva (Walter Silva), six grandchildren; Nidia Medina (Ricardo Medina), Karen Fuentes (Rudy Fuentes), Melvin Ramirez Jr., Roslyn Silva, Jaselyn Sorensen (Nathan Sorensen), Walter Silva Jr., and eight great-grandchildren; Marlon Medina, Melvin Medina, Alexander Fuentes, Benjamin Fuentes, Alizae Boska-Silva, Kai’Lani Sorensen, Emmett Sorensen, and Avery Sorensen.  She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Ramirez (December 31, 1999).
Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary and Cemetery from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, located at.

Mamatere falleció pacíficamente el 5 de enero de 2023 en Murray, Utah, rodeada de sus hijos y seres queridos.  Tere nació el 1 de noviembre de 1930 en la Ciudad de Guatemala; Hija de Irineo y Maxima.
Mamatere se casó con Manuel Ramírez en 1949 y disfrutaron de un matrimonio muy largo y amoroso.  Su matrimonio incluía una abundante cantidad de tiempo familiar en casa cerca de la playa y otras actividades al aire libre. A Mamatere le encantaba cocinar y hacer jardinería, ya fuera horneando pasteles o haciendo platos tradicionales para su familia.  Mamatere era muy amable, cariñosa y dulce con todos sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos; también le encantaba cuidar de sus pájaros, que tenía uno para cada uno de sus nietos.
Le sobreviven sus tres hijos, Marieta de Ruano (Marco Ruano), Melvin Ramirez (Yolanda Ramirez), y Maritza Silva (Walter Silva), seis nietos; Nidia Medina (Ricardo Medina), Karen Fuentes (Rudy Fuentes), Melvin Ramirez Jr., Roslyn Silva, Jaselyn Sorensen (Nathan Sorensen), Walter Silva Jr., y ocho bisnietos; Marlon Medina, Melvin Medina, Alexander Fuentes, Benjamin Fuentes, Alizae Boska-Silva, Kai’Lani Sorensen, Emmett Sorensen, y Avery Sorensen. Le precede en la muerte su esposo Manuel Ramírez (31 de Diciembre de 1999).
 
Los servicios conmemorativos se llevarán a cabo el viernes 13 de enero de 2023 en Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary, de 5:30 PM a 7:00 PM.
