Marianne Burdett Rickabaugh

November 17, 1943 — November 14, 2025

Marianne Burdett Rickabaugh, age 81, left to be with her Heavenly Father on November 14, 2025, just three days shy of her 82nd birthday. She was born on November 17, 1943, in Evanston, Wyoming, to her loving parents, James Glen Burdett and June Ruth Tingey, and most recently made her home in Munford, Tennessee. Her passing was peaceful, with her devoted daughter, Cristi, by her side.

Beautiful, independent, and full of life, Marianne possessed a warmth and charisma that made people feel instantly at ease. She carried herself with grace, humor, and a spark that never dimmed. Her laughter—bright, genuine, and unforgettable—was one of the many gifts she shared with those around her. Her faith as a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a vibrant and steady part of her life. She served faithfully in many callings over the years and found purpose, strength, and deep connection within her church community.

Marianne spent many joyful years in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, where she raised her family, built lasting friendships, and filled her life with purpose and love. In her later years, she retired to Tennessee, embracing a gentler pace while staying close to those who meant the world to her.

One of Marianne’s greatest joys in life was being a grandmother. She was a fantastic grandmother in every sense—present, loving, and endlessly supportive. She never missed an opportunity to tell her grandchildren how proud she was of them, and each of them carries those words close to their hearts.

She is survived by her loving children: Craig Calder (Kaye Calder), Layton, UT; Cristi Rickabaugh Spackman (Sheldon Spackman), Munford, TN; Cory Rickabaugh (Partner Tessi), Farmington, MO; and Cari Rickabaugh, Sheboygan, WI; Sister, Ruth Roberts (Dix) Layton, UT; Sister-in-law, Sandy Burdett Layton, UT. Grandchildren: Shaylynn Drake, Cassie Calder, Caleb Calder, Cody Morey-Erbes, Shelby Morey, Mikayla Morey, Christopher Kujawa, Sterling Rickabaugh, Dallin Rickabaugh, and Kinzie Ellermann. Great-grandchildren: Avery Lynn, Addisyn Rae, Axton James, Padme', Kaden, Jack, Jeffery Logan, and many nieces and nephews who will miss her deeply and wish they had more time with her. Marianne was preceded in death by her loving parents, her brother Larry Burdett, and her daughter Cindy.

The family would like to express deep gratitude to the kind and gentle Dr. Evans as well as the nurses and aids from Methodist Home Health and Hospice. We will never forget your tender and compassionate care in the last days of Marianne’s life.

Marianne was incredibly talented, with dancing being one of her favorite activities. Throughout her life, she taught many forms of dance, and one of her greatest loves was teaching line dancing in her later years. She was also an incredible baker and spent decades making cakes—especially known for her beautiful wedding cakes. She loved to knit and crochet, and after spending so much time in bed in recent years, she crocheted dozens of potholders.

Fulfilling one of her deepest wishes, Marianne will be laid to rest in Bountiful, Utah—a place she loved dearly and held close to her heart. There, she will be reunited with her parents and her beloved brother, Larry, surrounded by the mountains and memories she cherished.
