Marie Koehler

Karen Marie Koehler, our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend returned to her Heavenly Father and was reunited with her husband, Edward, on May 12, 2023. She was 85 years old. She was born on May 22, 1937 in Kanab, Utah to George Ross Johnson and Nina Loraine Grow. She married Edward Koehler on June 25, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married for 55 years. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2008.
Marie enjoyed working at OC Tanner for many years until she retired. She and Edward loved to travel together as well as with family. In their later years, they took many trips, including Hawaii, Yellowstone, Las Vegas, the Oregon Coast, Washington State, and Branson, Missouri. She was a skilled navigator on their RV trips. Her favorite destination was Disneyland. She made many trips there and loved Mickey and Minnie. Wherever she traveled, she made sure to collect a spoon from each destination.
Throughout her life, Marie loved to crochet, build puzzles, and recently began a new hobby of coloring. She loved spending time with family and friends and was always happy when they came to visit.
Surviving Marie are her children: Steve (Pat) Koehler, Judy (Les) Anderson, and Greg (Tina) Koehler; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; sister, Loraine (Garth) Spiers; and brothers, Mel and Willard Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Koehler; her mother; father; stepfather, Morey Green; baby brother, Lawrence Johnson; 2 sisters-in-law, Sue and Lorna Johnson; and nephew, Brent Spiers.
Funeral services for Marie will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Bennion 14th Ward Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6550 South 2700 West, Taylorsville, Utah. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday from 10:30 until 11:30. Interment will be in Memorial Redwood Cemetery following the services.Service Information
