Marie Vandemyle Hart

July 24, 1939 — February 28, 2023

Marie Vandemyle Hart passed away on February 28, 2023 at the age of 83 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on July 24, 1939 in Dordrecht, Holland to Jacob and Kathy Vandemyle.
She immigrated from the Netherlands at age 13 without knowing the language and started school in America. She graduated from Ogden High School. She married John William Hart III on February 27, 1959. Working 25 years of service with Dan’s Grocery Store as Customer Service and in support of the Circle Boat Racing she became a Secretary/Treasurer for the Utah Speed Boat Association. She enjoyed painting and would often send her art as gifts. While living in Colorado she became involved with a Volunteer Program and she would spend time volunteering at the Local Senior Center.
She is survived by her children; John W. Hart IV, Tammy (Steve) Kresser, Deborah Atkinson, Fred (Mary) Hart, Sandi (Kevin K.) Hart, sister Wilma (Earl) Covey, and brother Chris Vandemyle. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Kathy Vandemyle, sister Corry Clark, brother Jake Vandemyle, husband, John W. Hart III and grandson, John W. Hart V.
The family would like to thank the staff at Legacy Village Taylorsville for taking great care of Marie.
Funeral services for Marie will be held on Saturday March 11, 2023 at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary beginning at 11 AM. A viewing will also be held prior to the services beginning at 9 AM until 11 AM at the same location. 3115 east 7800 South Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121. Interment will follow the services at Memorial Mountain View.
