Marilyn Lavonia Barnett Davie

Marilyn Lavonia Barnett Davie, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at the U of U Medical Center Wednesday afternoon May 6, 2009. Marilyn was born July 21, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois to Luella and Lucius Barnett. She graduated from Los Angeles High School in 1940. Married to Deral John Johnson, divorced. In 1960, she married George Norman Davie.

She and her husband George created, and ran a successful retail business for over 30 years in the Salt Lake City area. Marilyn enjoyed travel, outdoor activities, and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, George; children, Sheryl Garrison (Robert), Dawnel Welch (Mike), and Jeff Davie (Suzy). She was preceded in death by her parents, Luella and Lucius Barnett.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East. Friends and family may visit from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to the family at: www.holbrookmortuary.com
