Dear Family and Friends, It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of my beloved wife, Marilyn Brown, who passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 83.
Marilyn and I were married in the Saint George, Utah LDS Temple in 1967. She grew up in Provo, Utah, attending local schools and graduating from Provo High School. She later attended BYU and Dixie College (now Utah Tech College), where she found her true passion in home economics because it allowed for her wonderful creativity.
Family, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and homemaking were her ultimate passions. Soon after we were married, she dedicated her life to our family as a full-time homemaker. She was constantly improving our home with her decorating and treating us to classic meals and new culinary creations. We will all especially cherish the memory of her homemade Christmas truffles. She loved her family unconditionally and would spend hours talking to them to help with their challenges. She loved family gatherings and had a gift for caring for and interacting with the children.
Marilyn was a devout believer who practiced her faith with the same dedication as her early Mormon pioneer ancestors. She had a deep love for the Savior and church hymns. Even after being diagnosed with dementia, when she could no longer recall names, she could still beautifully sing church hymns and recite scriptures from memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and two brothers. She is survived by myself, our 3 daughters, her sister, 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Information regarding services will be shared once finalized.
With love,
Gary Brown
