Marilyn (Lyn) Ford, Age 88, died Saturday, August 19th, in Sandy, UT. She was born in Nephi, Utah, to John Edmund (Ted) Hill and Zelda Pay Hill. She Married Howard J. Ford on October 15th, 1955, in Ely, NV. Lyn was an independent woman with a successful healthcare career as a nurse, educator, and researcher. She was an associate professor at the University of Utah and was Director of the Regional Hemophilia Center. Some of her degrees and awards include St. Marks Hospital Registered Nurse, University of Utah Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate degrees, and a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from the National Hemophilia Association. She was a National Nurse of the Year in 1993. Lyn was preceded in death by husband Howard, son David A. Ford, and her parents. Lyn’s survivors include children Scott H Ford (Shanna) and Lisa Ford-Bunkall (Shaun), eight grandchildren: Shaun & Justin Ford, Nichole DaVault, Matthew Wardle, Bracken & Parker Ford, and Zac & Braque Bunkall as well as ten great-grandchildren, two great, great-grandchildren, brother Stephen R. Hill and sister Judy Hill Jones (Alan).
Funeral Services will be Friday, August 25th, at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, where friends may arrive one hour before the 11:00 memorial service for viewing. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to Red Butte Gardens, where Lyn volunteered for many years.
