Marilyn Wright passed peacefully from heart failure on September 1, 2023 while visiting with her daughter Debbie in Escondido, California.
Marilyn was born September 20, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Kenneth Muffett and Dorothy Roberts. Marilyn spent her childhood in the family home on Blaine Ave in Salt Lake. Marilyn graduated from South High school with an art scholarship to the University of Utah. In 1954, after attending the university, she met and married Edward Lawson. They had three daughters, Kathy, Karen and Debbie. They were later divorced. In 1957 Marilyn married Robert Howard. They had three children. Kristine, Gregory, and Kevin. They were later divorced.
In 1964 Marilyn bought the family home in White City. She was so proud of how she managed to purchase it on her own. Shortly after that she went to work for Grand Central and became their first female manager in the state of Utah. She later took a job with Rite Aid, whom she worked for until she retired at age 79. She took great pride in her work ethic and values.
In 1979 Marilyn met and married Paul Wright. They had 27 years of camping and backyard parties with the family. It was a big loss when he passed in 2006.
Marilyn loved her home. She loved her backyard, especially her deck, where she spent many hours playing solitaire. She loved her children and grandchildren, her loving sisters, her neighbors and her dear friends. They were her lifeline. She was so looking forward to seeing all of them again.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Kathy Allen (James), Karen Earl (Rick), Debbie Elison (LaVar), Kristine Rasband (Steve), Gregory Howard (Estella), Kevin Howard (Carilyn), twenty Grandchildren, twenty four Great Grandchildren, and six Great, Great Grandchildren .
Marilyn is also survived by her sisters, Jean Wawrzyniak, Phyllis Middaugh, Sharon Muffett (Jim) and sister-in-law Carol Muffett. Preceded in death by her husband Paul Wright and brother Douglas Muffett.
