Marjorie Nelson Parry passed away on October 8, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a brief illness. She was 103 years old. Marjorie was born in Salina, Kansas, on July 4, 1922, to Harmon and Caroline (Freeman) Nelson. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1946, with a bachelor’s degree in Library Science.

She married Robert W. Parry on July 5, 1945. They had two sons, Robert Bryce Parry and Mark Nelson Parry.

Marjorie was an avid tennis player. She also enjoyed gardening and playing bridge. She was a world traveler and visited many places around the world.

When Marjorie moved to Utah in 1969, she became an accomplished skier. She enjoyed the mountains and skied well into her 80s. She was also an avid reader and Utah Jazz fan.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her three sisters, Katherine Smith, Doris Schuerman and Constance Upton and her son, Bryce Parry and Bryce’s wife, Deborah.

She is survived by her son, Mark Parry and his wife, Nora Yanet Parry, her grandchildren, Lauren Parry Falkner, Kristie Parry Laugeman, Robert Parry, Marelle Hawkes and Stephen Russell Seidel and her great grandchild Estelle Hawkes.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah.
