Marjorie Olivia Staples passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her home in Boston on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015. Her radiant life touched each person she met. Marjorie was born August 30, 2012, to Derek and Mary Staples. They called her "the girl of our dreams." She was an answer to their prayers and radiated joy and enthusiasm to everyone she met. Marjorie's eyes were loving and bright. Her charming smile was contagious. Strangers and friends alike were drawn to her sparkly personality.
Marjorie greeted her parents each morning with such enthusiasm as if it was Christmas morning. Each day, her eyes were filled with awe and wonderment for her new life. She was her mom's best friend and the light of her dad's life. Marjorie put on her rain boots and awaited a new adventure each day with her mom. When it was nice weather outside, she wanted to go out and enjoy it. When it was cold, she couldn't wait to play in the snow. On dreary days, she brought the sunshine inside. Marjorie found joy in any activity. Everything was wonderful and spectacular to her. When she would send her daddy off to work each morning, she loved to wish him well on the Choo Choo train and the bus. Each evening, she would run with arms wide open to see her daddy again. Her parents could not contain the excitement she felt at the start and end of each day. Her daddy would help her close the day singing Brahm's lullaby as she put her head on his shoulder.
Marjorie loved living near the Boston LDS temple. When her parents found their new house, it was located right by the temple. Every time they talked about it, she called it her new house located by the "happy" until she could pronounce the word "temple." As a family, they loved to sing the well-known LDS Primary song, "I Love to See the Temple."
Marjorie is survived by her parents Derek & Mary Dudley Staples and her brother Theodore William. She is preceded in death by her angel older baby sister Amy. Grandparents Roger and Cynthia Jane Dudley of Salt Lake City and Larry and Ann Staples of St. George, UT. Great Grandma Ora Milne. Aunt & Uncles: Jonathan & Heidi Dudley, Matt & Jessica Sherry, Darren & Sarah Nelson of Salt Lake City. James and Karly Barker of Charlotte, N.C.; Scott and Katie Topham and Greg & Natalie Kessler of Denver; Eric and Sharisa Lewis and Mark and Tiffany Sachse of Dallas; Chris & Patrice Winterholler of Phoenix. Countless friends, Curious George, playgroup friends, loving cousins and her stuffed animal community. It is hard for her parents not to list every single person Marjorie met as she called them a friend right away.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday January 24, 2015 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 North "N" Street. Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening January 23, 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at the East Millcreek Stake Center, 3101 East Craig Drive (3600 South). To celebrate her life a funeral and wake were held for family and friends in Belmont, MA earlier this week.
