Mark Barrett Feinauer (1953-2026) died May 24 from complications of a fall sustained about a week earlier.
Mark was born to Lyman and Lorraine Feinauer on April 8, 1953, and was the youngest of five children. He is survived by his four siblings, Rick (Karen), Leslie (Craig) Perry, Marcia (Boyd) Vogeler, and Judy (Dane) Poulton. A bit of a mischievous child, Mark is remembered for nearly starting his parents’ closet on fire with a firecracker, breaking his arm while trying to ride on his homemade roller skates, and becoming a “kindergarten dropout.”
Mark graduated from Highland High School in 1971 and afterwards served in the Germany West Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His committed discipleship and lifelong activity in the church were defining features of Mark’s life.
Upon returning home from his mission, Mark attended the University of Utah and earned both a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology. He later went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from Brigham Young University. Mark spent the majority of his career working in banking and finance, spending the last 16 years at Deseret Trust Company. His coworkers came to love and respect Mark as a friend and highly skilled professional.
In 1980, Mark met Tammy Campbell, after a mutual friend set them up on a blind date. They were married in the Salt Lake City Latter-day Saint Temple on September 10, 1981. They have 3 children, J.P. (Marie), Matthew (Kaitlin) and Katie (Chad) Stringham. Mark and Tammy have eight (soon to be nine) grandchildren.
Mark loved spending time with his family, reading, going to McDonald’s and/or Chick-fil-A, stitching Christmas ornaments for family and friends, and attending physical therapy or exercise classes at the TOSH Orthopedic Hospital in Murray, Utah. He loved making friends, and he was a very kind and thoughtful person.
We will miss Mark’s sense of humor, his peaceful presence, and loving guidance. We are grateful for the love and prayers of so many people on his behalf.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Mark on Saturday, May 30, at 9:30 a.m. followed by his funeral service at noon. Services will be held at the Wheeler Farm Ward Chapel, 1160 E. Vine Street, Murray, Utah. Interment will take place later that day at the Wellsville City Cemetery in Cache Valley, Utah.
