Mark Wade Hakala, at the age of 57, left this world tragically after being hit and killed while riding his bike in Tooele, Utah.
Mark was born on November 23, 1966, to Patricia Kay and Theodore Gordon Hakala. He joined his sisters CariKay, Alena and brother Todd.
Being the youngest, Mark was spoiled by his entire family. His father, Ted took Mark everywhere he went, becoming Ted’s little sidekick. He was his mother’s favorite child. Mark loved being the center of attention and making sure all eyes were on him.
Mark grew up in Sandy, Utah and graduated from Alta High in 1985. He loved computers and found immense pleasure in surfing the web and learning how things worked.
At the time of his death, he worked at the Deseret Industries in Tooele, Utah. His kind smile and demeanor earned him a number of friends and touched the hearts of many others young and old.
Mark was an incredibly special soul. He loved his family but adored his “bro” Todd. He grew up with his nieces Tasha and Cheresa and nephews Brandon and Kam Hakala. He was a wonderful uncle to them, and he loved them beyond words. He was a Great-Uncle to Tasha’s daughter, Alexys’s, 2 and ½ children, Zadyen, Zaelynn and baby Z.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Todd, grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles. He leaves behind his sister CariKay Hakala Cole (Justin) and sister Alena Hakala.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held prior from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. Interment following services at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
