Martha Jane Cooper Lindstrom

October 19, 1929 — May 9, 2012

Martha Jane Cooper Lindstrom, 82, died Wednesday May 9, 2012 at her home in Anaheim, California.

Jane was born to the late Harold and Ethel Cooper on Oct. 19, 1929, in Jonesboro, Illinois. In 1944 she, her parents and her only sibling, Mary Margaret, moved to Dragerton, Utah. She graduated from Carbon High School in Price, Utah where she met Lynn Reid Lindstrom and they were married on Aug. 6, 1947 in Spring Canyon, Utah. All 64 years since then, they have been "on a date." Reid was in the military and their first son, Dan, was born at Fort Ord, California. They were then assigned to Europe which gave them the opportunity to live in Austria for three years where Mark and Wade were born. When they returned to the United States they finally settled in Salt Lake City, Utah where Brad, Lane and their only daughter, Stacy, were born. One final child, Chad, who lived only 10 days, was also born in Salt Lake City. All of her children were able to gather to say good-bye and Chad was there to say "hello."

Jane was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and after Reid's retirement they served three missions for the church in Southern California. They enjoyed the area and climate so much that they have lived in Anaheim ever since.

During their retirement years they have enjoyed family, traveling (especially cruising), Disneyland, swap meets, and playing Skipbo.

Jane is survived by her beloved Reid, 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 2 pm at the LDS chapel on 3408 South Celeste Way (3120 E) in Salt Lake City. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South in Salt Lake City, Utah. Messages and tributes to the family can be posted at: www.holbrookmortuary.com
