Martha "Marti" Creed

Mar 30, 1954 — Jun 22, 2026

Martha “Marti” Creed, age 72, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on June 22, 2026, after many years of courageously facing ongoing health challenges.

Marti was born on March 30, 1954, in Mount Gilead, Ohio, to Ray and Clara Miller. She was the youngest of five children and often shared fond memories of growing up on the family farm. One of her favorite stories was learning to drive a tractor at just six years old. She was proud to call herself a farmer’s daughter, and you could often find her wearing a pair of overalls with a bandana tied around her head.

On August 30, 1980, Marti married the love of her life, Roland Creed, just six months after they met on a blind date. Their love was unmistakable—they held hands everywhere they went, a simple but beautiful reflection of the devotion they shared throughout their 46 years of marriage.

Marti had an extraordinary love for children. She faithfully served in the Children’s Ministry at Southeast Baptist Church for more than a decade, where she became a beloved leader and mentor. She homeschooled her children through junior high before following her passion for teaching at Salt Lake Christian Academy. There, she taught eighth-grade typing, fifth- and sixth-grade Bible, and art for students in grades four through eight. She genuinely cared for every child she taught, encouraging them not only academically but personally and spiritually.

Her husband often joked that Marti had a “baby radar.” If there was a baby anywhere nearby, she somehow always knew—and she was usually the first one there with a smile and open arms.

A gifted and creative woman, Marti found joy in painting, crafting, and making handmade gifts that reflected the love she poured into everything she did.

Music filled her home and her heart. She loved worship music and could often be found singing, harmonizing, or dancing whenever songs of praise were playing. Above all, Marti loved the Lord. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she deeply believed in the power of prayer. She was a faithful and tireless prayer warrior who spent countless hours lifting up family, friends, and even strangers.

Marti never met someone she couldn’t care about. She treasured her family, cherished her friendships, and had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen and loved. Whether you were family, a lifelong friend, a coworker, or someone she had just met, chances are you were remembered in her prayers.

Marti is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Roland Creed; her daughters, Elizabeth Roggasch and Rachel Armstrong; her sons-in-law, Joshua Roggasch and Brian Armstrong; her cherished grandchildren, Rachel, Joleen, and Rebecca Roggasch; her sister, Dorcas Weir; and her sisters-in-law, Joanne Miller and Viola Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Clara Miller; her siblings, Olive Gillmore, Dan Miller, and Nate Miller; and her beloved son, Jonathan Creed.

Rather than holding a traditional funeral service, Marti’s family invites all who knew and loved her to join them in celebrating her life on July 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery.

This will be an outdoor, potluck-style gathering. Please come as you are, bring a favorite dish if you’re able, and share a story or memory of Marti. We would be honored to celebrate the love, faith, and joy she so freely shared with everyone around her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Breakthrough T1D, a cause that was meaningful to Marti and her family.
